The Location
http://www.ripponleaestate.com.au/
Riponlee Estate in Melbourne is an incredible property. It has been around since 1868. There is so much history there, which is something that becomes very apparent to you as soon as you walk through the gates. We were very lucky to be able to shoot there.

Gear
For this shoot I used my Canon 5Ds and I swapped between a Sigma 50mm 1.4 ART and Sigma 35mm 1.4 ART. In regards to lighting, I used one Profoto B1 head with a beauty dish. I also had my trusted human light stand, Matt. I mainly used it as a bit of fill light, just to give that little bit of pop but still keep an editorial feel to it. On cloudy days I find that I back light the subject a lot, using a strobe. If you find the right angles and ratios it really gives it a nice natural feel as if the model would be backlit by the sun.

Nevenka
The Location
The producer behind this editorial was the creative agency Head On Media. The shoot took place at the Melbourne Museum, which Is a great open area with lots of great textures and strong architectural lines. A perfectly suited backdrop to showcase some beautiful pieces from Nevenka. Our beautiful model was Selma Lunde from Chadwicks Models.
I shot this with natural light and reflector. I wanted it to have a loose and natural feel to it and I didn't want to restrict myself to much by using strobes.

It had been almost 3 years since I first met Lucie on a shoot that we did along the back roads of Byron Bay. A shoot that in spite of almost getting shot and or arrested…(continue reading)
